How does it work technically?

When your leads click on a link or fill out a form on your website, they receive a cookie in their browser (a common technology used by the majority of websites today). The system then knows that this person is the same person who is in the system, and can see what they are doing on the website.

How does this relate to the GDPR?

In short, the GDPR says that your visitor must opt-in to allow you to collect information about them. Almost all large companies and websites already do this today through the note that usually appears at the top of the browser when you visit a website for the first time. It asks you to click OK if you allow the website to track you through a cookie.

What is no longer possible is to buy lists and put them into your system. This is no longer legal. We at FunnelBud (and probably most others too) think this is just fine - because no one likes to be spammed with something they didn't ask for.
